The Lab: Finding P-Energy
A downloadable game
You are in the shoes of Lehamann's assistant, where you are tasked to find P-Energy - the connection between the soul and the body. You must conduct experiments of happiness, joy, fear, grief, and horror.
- History -
Alfred Lehmann was a 19th century Danish scientist, who with the collaboration of the Medicinsk Museion, is the focus of my project. With a background in Psychology and his own laboratory, Lehmann dedicated his life studying “the relationship between soul and body”.
As noble as this research was, his methodology and approach left many of his patients to this day with severe claustrophobia and related traumatic ailments (such as post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD). In his pursuit to find the connection with the soul and consciousness, he would conduct experiments the would invoke the patient's happiness, joy, as well as fear, grief, and horror. Strapping a patient to a chair and pumping ammonia through a face mask, firing a gun behind a patient’s head, conducting electric shocks across a patient’s body, sticking needles, cutting skin - these were all experiments that Lehmann would conduct.
This game uses accurate 19th century scientific instruments that are fully interactable with sound and visual design.
